Her films have have earned 16 international awards having screened all over the world in more than 100 film festivals, in over 35 countries and across 6 continents.
She specialises in traditional, hand-drawn animation and documentary film, with a particular interest in sound design and editing, as well as experimental filmmaking techniques.
She has delivered talks about her work at various schools, universities and film festivals including the BAFTA qualifying Aesthetica and London International Animation Festivals.
Much of Hat's work focuses on social justice and mental health issues, with importance placed on spreading awareness and promoting understanding of various conditions such as Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.
Having previously worked as an Artist in Residence at Downside Abbey in Bath, Hat has taught fine art, graphic design and illustration.
She is currently a Lecturer in Animation at the University for the Creative Arts, based in Farnham, where she lives with her dog, Walter.
